This is the RWD music magazine cover
it has as bold font as its brand identity. There is also a 2 colour scheme house style which familiarises the consumer with its brand. There is a masthead above the crouched cover star (mid shot - full body) first thing you notice when looking at this front cover. His mouth is slightly open which could be seen as sexual and would draw in his female fans and the hip-hop and individual fans to read the magazine.
There are no puffs and no features to the magazine which gives the magazine cover a plain look. The cover stars name is in big font followed by a subtitle to entice and inform the audience what the article (if written) would be about. The cover star is also wearing black and white which contributes to the black and white house style given off. There is no barcode meaning it is a free online magazine.
There are social media icons at the bottom of the page showing that the consumer is more likely to be off a younger generation and also shows that this media can be accessed through different types media platforms they are available on.

The first part of the double page spread is taken up by medium shot of the coverstar. By having this picture here it anchors to the audience profile who the coverstar is, as some of the audience profile may be unaware of who he is unless they see a picture of him. It also allows any of his fan base reading this magazine, to use it as a poster. The background of the image is plain white, this will be so that he stands out in the picture and it also adds effect to the image. The cover star has a stern face that could indicate the seriousness of the written columns to the right of the page or how seriously he takes his career . His body language portrays the genre of music the coverstar specialises in which is grime.
The columns are set out right down the side of the page in a consistent font size in plain black giving off a simplistic feel to the magazine. The modal address is formal and precise, but still appeals to its target audience e.g. 16+.
This contents page is simple, containing just one image on the page with a lot of white space background to elude sophistication in the magazine. The magazine features are ordered in a simple list at the right of the page, giving readers a guidance of where to find specific features of the magazine also telling the reader that there is a lot of information found inside and that they could be getting good value for their money paid for the magazine. The headings of each page type are in bold, making them stand out and giving a summary of what they are about. The layout is clear and easy to read. The word contents is spread across the page width at the top in large black bold text to state the page and it’s purpose in the magazine.
Cover analysis is the strongest, again try to explain why fonts, colours, layout, costume, lighting etc have been chosen. DPS is not the cover star and you could pick out conventions such as pull quote and comment on journalistic style and fonts etc and link to genre. Contents page, more on what content there is - genre again and target audience and images used, fonts etc.
